Tiffany Blue Curtains

Tiffany Blue Curtains – As any decorator will tell you, Tiffany Blue Curtains make a room — but just when selected correctly. When it comes to window treatments, it is an issue of colour and fabric, lining and length, and custom-made versus off-the-shelf. With all these choices, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, so we asked a couple of pros for advice on narrowing down the choices and choosing the proper Tiffany Blue Curtains for your home.

Fabric is an essential part of picking Tiffany Blue Curtains, because the substance will dictate how well your Tiffany Blue Curtains work and hold up over time.

“If they are too heavy, they may not fold crisply when attracted; too light and they may not fall well,” says designer Suysel DePedro Cunningham of Tilton Fenwick.

Lana Lawrence, who is vice president of Anthony Lawrence-Belfair curtain fabricators and that works with designers like Alexa Hampton and Katie Ridder, suggests holding cloths around a window, even in a fabric showroom. “Pleat it like an accordion on top and let it drape,” she says. “If it starts to flare as a parcel of crinoline, then it is not going to fall nicely on the window.”

Work with a major sample, at least 2 yards, as a smaller piece might not show the cloth’s true drape.

Also, remember sunlight will fade fabrics with time. In case the space in question receives a lot of light, it is wise to avoid bright colours, because they tend to fade faster.

“Still, if you prefer to change your rooms out many times, you can be less concerned with fading,” states Alice Guercio, vice president of product development at Kravet. Cunningham suggests moving with neutral colours, since they are less likely to fade than other colors and more likely to combine to a room’s decor.

In regards to material, lace, silk, artificial silk and velvet are the top choices to use for window treatments since they tend to hang the best, says Guercio. “Faux silk tends to be the most lasting,” she says. And at a particularly sunny room, faux silk doesn’t deteriorate as rapidly as real silk.

Some fabrics can help keep the cold out. Many hotels use suede, velvet, tapestry or tweed because their weight helps block mild and keep heat in. Still, nearly any fabric could be interlined with bump, a thick, insulation material. Along with interlining — a piece of cloth slipped between the liner and the face cloth — can also help prolong the life span of their Tiffany Blue Curtains.

Before you take the tape measure, decide how high over the window you would like the Tiffany Blue Curtains to begin. “Hanging panels higher than the window provides a feeling of height to the space,” says Cunningham. Designers frequently hang Tiffany Blue Curtains about six inches above the window frame, but for a dramatic look, some go higher.

To get a more traditional look, using the curtain slightly puddled on the floor, you’ll want to add another two or three inches to your length. To get a contemporary, crisp look, have the plank collapse flush with the ground.

When measuring the width of your window, make certain to add four to eight inches on both sides and double the total amount to ensure curtain fullness.

If you plan to use the Tiffany Blue Curtains to close out the sun, those additional inches around the perimeter of your window frame will even help block out any sun light light.

Custom window treatments offer you many benefits: You are able to customize the measurements to your window size and create a tailored appearance, such as a perfectly-fitted suit. Custom panels come in endless design options, in the material to header design. With these choices, however, comes a substantial cost difference from off-the-shelf panels.

If custom Tiffany Blue Curtains just aren’t in your budget, Cunningham proposes spending a little more cash on high quality retail window treatments.
