Sun Zero Blackout Curtains – As any decorator will tell you, Sun Zero Blackout Curtains create a room — but only when selected correctly. If it comes to window treatments, it’s an issue of color and fabric, lining and length, and custom-made versus off-the-shelf. With so many choices, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, so we asked a few pros for advice about narrowing down the choices and selecting the right Sun Zero Blackout Curtains for your home.
Fabric is an essential part of choosing Sun Zero Blackout Curtains, because the material will dictate how well your Sun Zero Blackout Curtains function and hold up over time.
“If they are too heavy, they may not fold crisply when drawn; overly mild and they may not fall well,” says designer Suysel DePedro Cunningham of Tilton Fenwick.

Lana Lawrence, who’s vice president of Anthony Lawrence-Belfair curtain fabricators and who works with designers such as Alexa Hampton and Katie Ridder, suggests holding cloths around a window, even in a cloth showroom. “Pleat it like an accordion at the top and let it drape,” she states. “When it starts to flare as a parcel of crinoline, then it is not going to fall nicely on the window”
Work with a major sample, at least 2 yards, since a smaller piece may not show the cloth’s true drape.
Also, remember sun will fade fabrics over time. If the room in question receives a good deal of light, it is smart to avoid bright colours, because they tend to fade faster.
“Still, if you prefer to change out your rooms often, you can be concerned with fading,” says Alice Guercio, vice president of product development at Kravet. Cunningham suggests going with neutral colors, since they’re less likely to fade than other colours and more inclined to combine to a room’s decor.
When it comes to material, lace, silk, faux silk and velvet are the top choices to use for window treatments since they tend to hang the best, states Guercio. “Faux silk will be the most durable,” she says. And in a particularly bright area, faux silk does not deteriorate as rapidly as silk.

Some fabrics can keep the cold out. Many resorts use suede, velvet, tapestry or tweed since their burden helps block light and retain heat in. However, any fabric could be interlined with bulge, a thick, insulation material. And interlining — a bit of fabric slipped between the liner and the face cloth — may also help extend the life span of their Sun Zero Blackout Curtains.
“If silk is unlined, it will rust,” says Lawrence. Adds Cunningham:”Lining and interlining are what provide Sun Zero Blackout Curtains their entire body and fullness.”
Before you take out the tape measure, decide how high over the window you’d prefer the Sun Zero Blackout Curtains to start. “Hanging panels greater than the window will give a feeling of height to the room,” says Cunningham.
To get a more traditional look, with the curtain slightly puddled on the floor, you’ll want to add another two or three inches to your length. For a modern, crisp appearance, have the plank collapse flush with the ground.
When measuring the width of your window, then make certain to add four to eight inches on both sides and double the total amount to ensure curtain fullness.

If you plan on using the Sun Zero Blackout Curtains to close out sunlight, those extra inches around the outside of your window frame will even help block out any creeping light.
Custom window treatments offer many benefits: You are able to customize the measurements to your window dimensions and make a tailored appearance, like a perfectly-fitted suit. Custom panels arrive in endless design options, from substance to header design. With these choices, though, comes a considerable price difference from off-the-shelf panels.
If habit Sun Zero Blackout Curtains just are not in your financial plan, Cunningham proposes spending a bit more cash on high-quality retail window treatments. She and her partner, Anne Maxwell Foster, like Restoration Hardware’s Belgian Heavyweight Textured Linen Sun Zero Blackout Curtains.
